This Privacy Policy explains how GulfJobs.com FZ-LLC ("Gulf Jobs", "we", "our", "us"), operator of www.gulfjobs.com, collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We are committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable GCC data protection regulations.

Gulf Jobs is operated by GulfJobs.com FZ-LLC, incorporated in Dubai Internet City, UAE. For data protection purposes, Gulf Jobs is the data controller for personal data submitted to our platform.

2.1 Job Seekers

  • Identity data: name, nationality, date of birth
  • Contact data: email address, phone number, postal address
  • Professional data: CV, work history, education, skills, certifications
  • Profile data: username, password, preferences, saved jobs, applications
  • Usage data: pages visited, search queries, clicks, session duration
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers

2.2 Employers

  • Company information: name, trade licence, address, industry
  • Contact data: name, email, phone of account holders
  • Billing data: payment method details (processed securely via Stripe)
  • Usage data: job postings, CV views, application management activity

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

  • Operate and improve the Gulf Jobs platform and services
  • Match job seekers with relevant job opportunities
  • Allow employers to search and contact qualified candidates
  • Send job alerts, application updates and platform notifications
  • Process payments and manage employer subscriptions
  • Detect fraud, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations
  • Send marketing communications (with consent, and opt-out available at any time)
  • Analyse platform performance and improve user experience

We process personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance: to provide our services to job seekers and employers
  • Legitimate interests: for platform security, fraud prevention, and improving our services
  • Legal obligation: to comply with UAE, GCC and applicable international laws
  • Consent: for marketing communications and optional cookies

5. Data Sharing

We share personal data only:

  • With employers when you apply for their jobs (CV, name, contact details)
  • With trusted service providers (cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics) under strict data processing agreements
  • With legal authorities when required by UAE or applicable law
  • In connection with a business transfer, with appropriate protections

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies to operate our platform, remember your preferences, and analyse usage. You can manage cookie preferences via our Cookie Settings banner. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the site to function.

7. Data Retention

We retain job seeker profiles for 3 years from last login, or until deletion is requested. Employer account data is retained for the duration of the subscription plus 2 years for billing compliance. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR and UAE PDPL, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time

9. International Data Transfers

Data may be processed in UAE, UK, EU or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions) are in place for all international transfers.

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, access controls, regular penetration testing, and ISO 27001-certified processes to protect your data. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by law.

11. Changes to This Policy
